Custom Myrtle Dining Table in the Forest Gems Workshop

Current custom project in the Workshop: 5 piece joined Myrtlewood 80″ table top.

Below: Everything is set out to trim the ends of the table and begin final sanding and shaping of the corners. Its a nice day at the Workshop, so I will work outside. This is a custom order, the design was laid out via email.

Below: This is the unfinished bottom of the tabletop. It was also sanded to be tactile, especially on the parts that overhang the base, which will be satin black steel.

The sanded underside of the dining table.

Below: The Myrtlewood table top after 2 coats of Zar Ultra finish. This is a hard and durable satin finish that you sand and buff to the desired shine.

Below: A close up of the burled area. This design features the center piece with lots of color and figure. The sides are meant to frame the figured focal point plank.

Hopefully soon we will be able to host guests at the Forest Gems Workshop to do their finishing projects.
