This very quirky piece is a wooden grease pot that stands up on four legs, with two dog-like heads at either end. On the removable lid rests a full-body lizard.  Measures 13 x 8 x 6, priced at $350. It is unsigned. We have no idea about the age or origins of this piece! But, it had too much charisma to pass up, and we are pleased to offer it.

It is carved out of an unidentified medium-weight wood that has been ebonized and hand-rubbed. Plump, well-executed, and really intriguing. We just don’t know where it came from, or what type of possible ethnic affiliation or date of origin it may have.
