Vintage First Nations carving, crafted in 2005, depicts two Eagles with an Orca whale between them, and a chieftain head as well. Measures 18.5 x 4.5 inches, priced at $345. The red cedar has mellowed to rich dark tones. Look closely at the photos and enjoy the clean and masterful carving.

The artist was born in 1956, in Squamish, B.C. His father is of Ukrainian heritage while his mother is of Coast Salish heritage. He presently lives in the the Fraser Valley.

He first carved at the age of fifteen. Although he was basically self-taught, other local First Nations master carvers have been a great influence. He has been carving full-time since 1986 and is recognized for the quality of his work.

He likes to carve eagles, bears, wolves, loons, animals that are found locally and have a place in native legend.

He also likes to carve Chiefs and Welcome figures. All his work is finely carved and finished. His work is sought out by serious collectors and can be found in collections all over the world.
