About the Mourning Raven symbol:

The Tsimshian tribe of British Columbia shows Raven as a pure savior of man, providing light to the human world.  According to their belief, Raven was sorry for the humans who were forced to stumble around in the dark. Raven knew that there was light in heaven, so out of the goodness of his heart, he stole the light from the heavens and brought it to earth so that it could be enjoyed by everyone. His dismay at the conditions for all life stuck in the darkness moved him to bring the light to all, so in his sadness thus sparked the key to life!
